LEGOLAND Water Park Preview

Over 5 days and counting to the official grand opening of the newest aquatic addition to LEGOLAND Florida theme park in Winter Haven, Florida. May 26th, 2012 marks the date for the LEGOLAND Water Park debut filled with slides, wave pool, lazy river and interactive water playgrounds catered to toddlers to 12 year old kids.

Like I said before, membership has its privileges. LEGOLAND Premium Annual Pass members had a sneak preview of LEGOLAND Water Park on the very first day open to the public. You know what that means? My family in full LEGO force converged on the renovated "Splash Island", the former Cypress Garden water park of year's past. With a brand new makeover and the official LEGO branding, the new LEGOLAND Water Park was all ours for endless fun.

The Joker Soaker was ground zero for my kids. It is an enormous interactive water playground filled with slides off all sizes, water sprayers, waterfalls and water obstacle courses. For parents with elementary school kids, it is a virtual baby sitter. Rejoice! You can relax in the plethora of lounge chairs to soak up some sun or take a well deserved nap. Take comfort that an army of Life Guards are constantly patrolling the watery playground.

Our next stop was the LEGOLAND Water Park lazy river. Called the Build-A-Raft River, you can just lazily float in your Bricktacular inflatable all day. Foam bricks are provided with your raft as you wind around the 3 foot deep river with glee. I pushed my kid's rafts with a Titanic send off for that couple minutes of peace and quiet. Make that two round trips of peace and quiet!

Hitting the surf was as close as the LEGO Wave Pool. No massive and crashing waves here to speak of. Just gentle and rolling waves at the shore for the babies and bigger waves for the able swimmers at the deeper end. Surf's up for Central Florida!

"Don't Worry, Be Happy" like my almost 15 month old daughter with DUPLO friends! Parents of toddlers don't worry as well, LEGOLAND Water Park has you covered. The DUPLO Splash Safari has your 2 year old kids entertained while the older siblings hit the bigger kid slides on the other side of the park. My youngest daughter missed out on the fun because of her afternoon nap. There is always next time!

When your older kids are not attached to their Apple mobile devices, they can take a spin on the Splash Out and Twin Chasers. Big kid rides are big fun. They are even more fun when there is no waiting in line for the constant repeats!

Make a bigger splash with a visit to LEGOLAND Water Park. The summer heat is almost upon us and your family can cool off after a long day at LEGOLAND Florida. There are also bathing suits for purchase, lockers for your stuff and towels to dry off. Hungry? You can dine at the Beach-n-Brick Grill in the water park.

"Mr Hasselhoff, your new cast of BAYWATCH is ready". Your kids are safe with the LIFE GUARD crew of LEGOLAND Water Park. My oldest daughter even noticed there are more LIFE GUARDS than guests on opening preview day. I can take comfort in that!

You can view more rides, slides and attractions in my LEGOLAND Water Park Preview 2012 Gallery shot with the Canon EOS 5D Mark III DSLR.

Canon EOS Rebel T3i Video Preview

It is no coincidence that today's delivery of the new Canon EOS Rebel T3i from my friends at North Tampa Photography marks the identical delivery date of the Canon EOS Rebel T2i a year ago on February 25th. A year makes a big difference. Introducing the top of the line Canon Rebel series HD DSLR, the T3i/600D. I quickly snapped some iPhone 4 pictures and captured some iPhone 4 video to quickly post to my waiting ChadSorianoPhotoBlog fans.

The most obvious feature to the top of the line Rebel is the articulation screen. At first exclusive to the Canon HD DSLR 60D, the very useful multi-angle LCD gives the small form factor Rebel a great feature.

In addition to the articulating Hi-Res LCD, the Canon EOS Rebel T3i has remote flash control like the 60D and the 7D. On top of that, you also get 1080p fully manual video capture and fully manual audio control. Unbelievable!

I edited the iPhone 4 video of the new Canon EOS Rebel T3i with Adobe Premiere Elements 9. I used Quicktime at best quality to compress a 160mb h264 video file.

UPDATE: My Canon EOS Rebel T3i Verdict and Video Review is complete.

IGUS Drylin Camera Slider Preview

I would like to introduce my upcoming HDdslr video test with the IGUS Drylin W Camera Slider with much anticipation. No, it did not come out of the box assembled as you see in the iPhone 4 picture but with a fluid video head, tripod legs and a quick trip to Home Depot, you can be setup very quickly.

I have a small video production shoot this weekend and I thought this would a great test bed for this neat little rig. Of course, I will have the video, production shots and a brief review of the IGUS Drylin Camera Slider very soon after. Stay updated on my Facebook Fanpage and Twitter!

Canon EOS 60D Video Preview #2 at Canon EXPO 2010

Glitzy Fashion Runway Models, the latest Canon High Tech Gear and the best collection of HD DSLR Filmmakers like Vincent LaForet made the Canon EXPO 2010 in New York City a spectacular event.

The Canon EOS 60D made its physical debut this Labor Day Weekend at the Javits Convention Center. This gave me ample opportunity to get my hands on the new 18 megapixel Full HD DSLR with high resolution swivel screen, manual audio control for video and wireless flash control like the Canon EOS 7D.

At the retail price of $1099 for body only, the 60D is arranged to be a glorified upgrade to the Rebel T2i and an inexpensive alternative to the Canon 7D. It shares the same 9 AF points like the Rebel T2i and the discontinued 50D. The 7D has 19 AF points with a faster 8 frames per second.

The Canon EOS 60D is bigger in size than the T2i but smaller than the 7D. It is an entirely new form factor for the Canon DSLR lineup. The 60D fit my hands comfortably especially with the slightly larger grip. Great features like Full HD video resolutions and variable frame rates, wireless flash control like the 7D and a stereo audio input with manual audio control make the Canon EOS 60D a winner in my PhotoBlog eyes. The SDHC memory card for image and video capture has troubled the prosumer market but I do not mind because this camera is not meant for speed. If it were destined for shooting sports, the 60D would have 19 AF points like the 7D as well as the faster compact flash form factor.

I also handled the new Canon EF 8-15mm f/4L Fisheye zoom lens. A zoom fisheye is a L lens first for Canon and I am excited to use the lens for unique video capture.

I could not miss the chance to use the new version II of the Canon EF 300mm f/2.8L IS II lens. It is supposed to be sharper and lighter than the previous version but unfortunately more expensive. The Canon rep told me the retail price is around $6000. Yikes!

As you noticed in the Youtube video, there was a mock Fashion Model shoot with a runway and techno music. Definite eye candy! Latest Canon gear and SuperModels are must shoot material for Canon HD DSLR's. When the Canon EOS 60D hits the store shelves before October 1st, 2010, I will give my Video Review and Verdict of this much anticipated camera.

Canon EOS 60D Preview At Canon EXPO 2010

One direct airplane flight from Florida and one bus ride into the Javits Convention Center in NYC, I arrived with excitement and hopes of my first hands on experience with the new Canon EOS 60D. As you can witness in the image I photographed with my iPhone 4, the 60D has a swivel screen, manual audio control for video and to my surprise a wireless flash control like the Canon EOS 7D. I will have more to post later on my ChadSorianoPhotoBlog and I will have a quick video preview shot on my iPhone 4 posted on my Canon1dm4 YouTube Channel soon. Ultimately, I will have a full Canon EOS 60D Video Review and Test shortly!
